The Outlaws: Is This the End of the Road for the BBC and Prime Video Series?
The Outlaws, the popular crime thriller comedy series, has returned for its third season on Prime Video in the United States. However, this season might be the last we see of the show, according to co-creator Stephan Merchant.
Investigating the future of The Outlaws
The Outlaws follows a group of misfits who are brought together to perform community service. Their lives take a dramatic turn when they stumble upon a bag of money, unaware that it belongs to dangerous individuals. The show boasts an impressive cast, including Stephan Merchant, Rhianne Barreto, Gamba Cole, Darren Boyd, Clare Perkins, Eleanor Tomlinson, Jessica Gunning, Charles Babalola, Tom Hanson, Claes Bang, and Christopher Walken.
“I think this series concludes in a very nice way and hopefully might bring a tear to the eye, so if it does then that would be great.” - Stephan Merchant
Merchant expressed his satisfaction with the show’s run, stating that he’s pleased it has lasted this long. However, he doesn’t expect to make a fourth season, citing burnout as the reason. “The problem at the moment is whenever I finish a project, I feel a bit burned out and need to take some time away to regroup,” he explained.

Although the current storyline might be coming to an end, Merchant hinted at the possibility of an anthology-type series that would follow other community service groups in different cities. This could be an exciting development for fans of the show.
