Production: Behind the Scenes
Production on The Last of Us Season 2 began on February 12, 2024, in Canada. The series is a co-production between HBO and Sony Pictures Television. The show’s creators, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, are keeping the themes of the game’s two existing parts, which have been described as unconditional love (Part I) and revenge (Part II).
The Story: A Brutal and Heartbreaking Journey
The second season of the post-apocalyptic drama series will be based on The Last of Us Part II game from Naughty Dog that came out in 2020. The story takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.
