Minecraft Mania: Netflix Announces Animated Series

The show is being produced in partnership with Mojang Studios, the Swedish developer of the game, and Canadian animation studio WildBrain.
The news was revealed as part of the game’s 15th-anniversary celebration, with a 20-second teaser featuring a Creeper - a zombie-like character from the game - and the Netflix logo situated within the blocky Minecraft world.
While specific plot details are scarce, Netflix promises an original story with new characters, showcasing the world of Minecraft in a new light. With WildBrain’s impressive track record of developing action-packed animated shows for the streamer, including Sonic Prime and Ninjano: Dragons Rising, expectations are high.
Mojang is also working on a Minecraft movie, slated for a 2025 release, starring Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, and Emma Myers.
